noticed that she seemed to be searching for something
"solid" to suck on amongst all the fluff.
That is where the idea of the nipples came
into play. She seemed to be pretending that my blanket was her mother and she
was looking for the comfort that the suckling provided.
After a little research, I found out that there are
many, many cats that do this same thing and that it is
similar to a child sucking his thumb or a pacifier.
It is something that comforts and soothes them and is
natural. I asked my sister (a professional
seamstress) to sew me up a few samples and my cats
absolutely LOVED it!!!

I brought my idea to a friend
who specializes in product marketing. As soon as
he saw my idea he loved it. Together we formed a
new company named
Woodford Productions, and set out
to produce and market the Catsifier™. We went to
pet departments and spoke with merchandisers of pet
supplies. We formed focus groups and saw that many
people were frustrated with cats ruining their furniture
and blankets. The Catsifier™
was long overdue.
Within two months we had the idea patent pending, trademarked,
and had the
Catsifier™
in production.
Woodford Productions, Inc. has grown quickly and
is currently seeking to license the
Catsifier™
to a company that is in a position to keep up
with the demand.
Alternatively, we would
like to find investors that are enthusiastic
about our products that would like to help us
take this to the next level as well as extend
the line.
